Skiing, snowboarding, sleding, cross-country skiing. In the fields of Rateče there are many cross-country tracks leading to Tamar, Planica and Kranjska Gora.

There is a 5 minuts drive by car to the the beautiful ski slopes in Kranjska Gora and Podkoren - webcam. For the small children the ski slope in Planica is recomended. You can also drive to nearby ski resorts in Tarvisio, or on mountain slopes Monte Lussari.

Trekking – Rateče is a wonderful starting point for several beautiful excursions, mountain walks and tours. You can afford youself a healthy active holiday - without a car.

Tamar - the source of Nadiža, the starting point for the tours to Sleme, Mojstrovka or Jalovec. There is a beautiful small chapel where you can find mosaic designs of the pastor Rupnik, author of the famous mosaics of the personal papal chapel "Redemptoris Mater" in Vatican.

A short walk to the natural reservation of Zelenci - the source of Sava.

You can decide also for a very pleasant walk to Tromeja – the meeting point of the three frontiers: Slovenia, Italy and Austria.

By car you can have a nice trip to Vršič passing by the Jasna lake and the Russian chapel.
